Love the period of American History between 1850 and 1870 ? Perhaps you had relatives that fought in the Civil War or you fell in love with the era while watching Ken Burns’ The Civil War. Whatever the case, you discover you really want to get “up close and personal” with this period in American history.

You have done some research, you have met some people and now the bug is caught and you want to jump right in and attend an event…in PERIOD!! YEAH!!

But now your mind is buzzing with questions. How do I get started? Who shall I be? Where do I find the clothes? Do I have to Sew? How expensive is this hobby?

No worries, I am happy to help you along and guide you to others much more experienced than me for help in answering these questions. At times it may seem a bit overwhelming but relax, we all had to start somewhere. I am still learning new things all the time on how to make my impression more authentic and know many who have been doing this for decades that say the same thing.
